Last Work (1994- ), 1994

I set out to construct the framework for my (projected) last work in 1994. The primary gesture being to reconstitute my earthly efforts by casting the ashes of my own mortal remains into an object resembling an urn. The agreement that accompanies the components of Last Work (1994- ) proposes to allow the patron/owner of the work the rights to my ashes upon the occasion of my death. The ashes would then presumably be cast into the supplied mold of the urn shape. With this work I aspire to return to History and to Time itself; an offering that embodies a completed fusion of form and content.
